Description:

Birthplace of Sidney Lanier, the cottage is now a museum dedicated to preserving the memory of this poet, musician and Civil War soldier. The cottage is located in one of Macon's many historic areas, and is a great stop while making a tour of the town's historic buildings. On display, among other things, is one of Sidney Lanier's flutes, Mary Day's wedding dress, and several portraits and first editions of his works.

Open Mon. - Sat., 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed on Sun.

Admission Details:

Adults $5; Seniors, Military with ID, and AAA members $4; Youth 6-18 $3.
